Came for the first time for a birthday treat and I’ll definitely return! On arrival they brought me a birthday cocktail which was a nice gesture. The service was slow to start when we wanted to order some drinks but overall great, they were chatty and friendly. For starter we shared some bread and scotch egg which was mouthwatering. For main I decided to go for the Beef Wellington as I never see it on the menu and they pulled it off! The meat was tender and the pastry was cooked to perfection, which I expect at 52!! Nice for a treat but some of the other dishes on the menu were reasonably priced so will definitely revisit. After mains I was stuffed so opted out of dessert but the server brought over a cheesecake with happy birthday written on the plate. Of course I ate the entire thing The bill for 4 of us (2 of us had Beef Wellington 52) came to 293. We had a few glasses of wine each and a bottle. Also 2 starters and 4 mains - without the beef wellingtons I would say for the experience it’s definitely worth trying. Sophisticated atmosphere and relaxing. Look forward to my next visit!

We went for my birthday, the food was lovely, we had the duck and scotch egg starters (shredded duck was so tasty, spring roll was crispy and the scotch egg was juicy and had a runny egg middle...perfect), then we went for the rump steak and the trio of lamb which were both tasty with lovely sides. It was very sweet I had a birthday drink sent over (strawberry cocktail), the staff were very friendly and attentive, Giovanna was especially kind and her service was really appreciated to celebrate my birthday! She's an asset to the team at the Sorting Room. I'd recommend the sorting room,I thought the food was good and the staff were lovely, we'd definitely return.

Really enjoyed our Easter Sunday lunch experience. The hotel and restaurant has a luxury feel to it and the decor is lovely. The staff were very attentive and friendly and made the experience more enjoyable. We had 3 courses and enjoyed every one, all having different things. The malbec wine was delicious and the cocktails also went down well. Would definitely come again.

Masssimiliano was the one who served us and he was very accommodating. I love the ambiance and the timing of the food was served just right, not too quick and not too long. My favourites are the Monmouthshire Reared Pork and Sun Dried Tomato Scotch Egg, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Mo provided great service. We was there at lunch when the restaurant didn’t serve beef wellington yet. A bit off because we went a long way there to try the dish. Mo then managed to get us that which’s very good of him. Food amazing and not too pricey for a combo of starter and main dish. We’ll def come back if we visit Cadiff again. Thanks

This had to be the prettiest/daintiest afternoon tea I've ever had. Really enjoyed the savoury options as they are quite often a bit of a let down. The beef brisket slider was absolutely delicious and I could have scoffed another one! Scones were served straight from the oven. They were very light and buttery. The pastries were the most delicate I've ever had. I was expecting them to be rich and heavy but that wasn't the case. The pixie orange lacked the mousse texture that was stated on the menu and could hardly taste the orange flavour. That was the only pastry that disappointed. Service was excellent and out teapots were never empty! Overall, I really enjoyed our experience. Perfect for a special occasion.

Great atmosphere, very clean and modern. Feels luxurious as if it is a fine dining experience. However, the price is much much cheaper. Overall, it is an amazing food and presentation compared to the price. I would highly recommend the visit here! And the staff were extremely polite as well.

Wow! The food here is exceptional. They made my birthday so special with little touches and the service from Kim was amazing, such a caring person who went the extra mile to make my birthday wonderful. The beef wellington is a must and the maple martini was one of the best cocktails I’ve had!
